Why it matters
A federal court is already reviewing Texas’ current redistricting maps — because there’s strong evidence they violate the Voting Rights Act and harm communities of color.
Presidents don’t get to request seats. Congressional districts should reflect people, not political favors.
The process lacked transparency. Lawmakers held public hearings, including in North Texas, without showing any maps and denying the knowledge of any existence — silencing Texans before they even knew what was at stake.
The map intentionally divides, packs, and cracks districts — a tactic used to weaken the voting power of communities of color.
It’s a blatant power grab. Instead of fair representation, Texas Republicans are trying to rig the system to protect themselves and silence opposition.
What it looks like in House District 108
House District 108 would be divided into three Congressional districts. The most egregious portion of which is divided by one block and along the North and South sides of the street. Furthermore, Dallas residents would be put into districts that stretch out to Henderson County Texas, including towns like Moore Station— population 160.
